A-1 Performance Motor Oil Email Marketing-Spec Ad
The Client: A-1 Performance Engine Oil (fake company)
The Tone: Exciting, Urgent, Promotional, Serious
The Audience: Men ages 35-50 who own expensive and/or performance cars. Taking good care of their cars is a hobby that they are very serious about. They don’t mind spending a bit more on the best products.
The Project: Create an email ad designed to increase awareness of the new A-1 Performance Engine Oil and drive purchases on the company’s website.
The Strategy: First, I wanted to understand the deep emotions of the target audience. I researched the importance of engine oil for cars. Why do they love high-performance/expensive cars? Why are car enthusiasts very careful in choosing which motor oil they want for their cars? The brand matters to them. The oil must be smooth and clean. Giving their car longevity, protection, and improved performance.
The headline's goal is for the audience to have the experience of getting into a new car for the first time...every time. That's because this new motor oil is so good that it will give them that experience. There will be no worries about their car performing at its best. That's because we all feel that a car performs at its best when it's new. Giving them more opportunities to be one-on-one with their "baby" or hopping in the car for a drive into town with their families.
The body copy gives the features to understand what makes this motor oil better than its competitors. It reassures them that this product has been tested and proven to deliver what it says it will do for them. Expecting optimal protection and performance.
Call To Action (CTA) buttons are placed in multiple locations. If the headline moves them to buy immediately, a CTA is placed there. If they need to understand the features first, a CTA is there. Instead of the typical "Buy Now", the copy ends with a vision of life for the customer after buying the motor oil. I want to relieve them of their worries, not pressure them to buy.
